Building Capability
"Many consultants give us half the answer to a 'problem', leaving us dependent on more consultancy to get the other half of the answer. Working with Chris, however, I know we are investing in our organisation's knowledge. He leaves us with the skills not only to answer that problem, but develops our capability to allow us to work on future problems." Lynda Cox, NHS North East
I am a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD (Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development). My philosophy in the design and delivery of any traning or development activity is to build your confidence and to transfer capability. I believe that "experience" is what makes the difference, so I endeavour to work with you and build experiential learning into the heart of any training programme.
This is often a creative, memorable experience - for example:
- Building towers from marshmallows and spaghetti in order to train in After Action Reviews,
- Mapping out personal social networks to reveal the power of social media,
- Facilitating a real business Peer Assist,
- Building a "knewspaper" knowlege asset to share good practice stories,
- Using group storytelling techniques to develop a self-assessment tool
- Participating in the "knowledge-bridge" exercise to clearly demonstrate the link between knowledge management approaches and business improvement. Can you beat the targets set by Nationwide, Orange and Bosch India?
Take a look at the example curriculum, developed for the NHS on the news and events page.

"it allowed me to cut a path through the wealth of information available and focus on activities and thinking that will make a real difference to embedding and sustaining KM in my environment"
"Excellent day, learnt a lot to take back to work."

Engaging Executives
Executive Boards can be tough groups to convince of the benefits of KM and organisational learning.
I can work with you to design and deliver the perfect blend of compelling examples (including video), clear business opportunities and engaging activities.
See this article from Inside Knowledge for examples.
Coaching
I provide personal coaching to individuals, giving dedicated attention to their specific KM strategy and implementation challenges. I have deep experience in change management, and a wealth of experience from working with over 50 organisations to help you ask and answer the right questions.
Coaching can be a particularly cost-effective way to develop a sustained capability - and to enable me to work with you on the most pressing challenges as and when they arise.
